Complaints and Discipline

Complaints Procedure

The Mississippi State Board of Architecture, the Landscape Architecture Advisory Committee, and the Interior Design Advisory Committee are charged by the Legislature to protect the life, safety and welfare of the public.

Any person may prefer charges against any other person for committing any of the acts set forth in the Registration Acts or the Rules and Regulations governing these professions.

Charges may be made upon actual knowledge, or upon information and belief, and should be filed with the Board in writing.

The complaint process is outlined in Chapter 5 of the Rules and Regulations of the State Board of Architecture. The Board, through an investigative committee, will investigate all charges received, and will determine if there is reasonable cause and sufficient evidence to warrant disciplinary action. If so, and charges result, the accused practitioner will receive a notice outlining all of the charges, as well as the practitioner's right to a hearing before the Board.
