State Registration is Required for Your Protection
The Mississippi State Board of Architecture is a consumer protection state agency. The Board oversees the professions of architecture, landscape architecture and certified interior design.
Individuals providing these services are required to be registered with the Mississippi State Board of Architecture prior to doing business in the state. The Board verifies education, experience and professional examination prior to issuing a license or certificate. The registration process ensures that a registrant of the Board has demonstrated that he or she has the knowledge and skills required for registration, and to carry out the duties of his or her profession safely.
It is unlawful for an individual to use any of these titles - architect, landscape architect, or certified interior designer - if the individual is not registered by the Board.
If you encounter unlicensed practice, or unlicensed use of one of these titles, please contact the Board. Likewise, if you feel that you have been harmed due to negligence, unethical behavior, or poor workmanship, consider filing a complaint with the Board.
